Safeguarding people with disability

MiLife-Victoria is committed to upholding people’s human rights by providing safe, quality services to all who use its services. We welcome and support the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.

The Royal Commission through public and private hearings, submissions and calls for further information, will investigate the following;

• Preventing and better protecting people with disability from experiencing violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.
• Achieving best practice in reporting, investigating and responding to violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation of people with disability.
• Promoting a more inclusive society that supports people with disability to be independent and live free from violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation.

MiLife-Victoria is committed to learning from the outcomes of the Royal Commission and will seek to implement changes wherever we can, that will improve the services and better safeguard the clients and families that we support.
