Personal Care Assistant

MiLife-Victoria provides supports that enable people living with disability to be self-directed and to exercise choice and control in their lives. We are currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant to work in a permanent, part-time position based in Langwarrin. The incumbent will be responsible for providing personal care support to disability adult clients at the Langwarrin Community and Arts Centre.

Cafe Assistant

This permanent part-time position is responsible for preparing food and drink orders and serving customers efficiently and taking payments. Ensuring counters and equipment are kept clean before, during and at the end of the service. The Café is a partnership between Langwarrin Community Aged Care (owned by Signature Care) and MiLife-Victoria to provide both a commercial Café offering to the Aged Care facility's residents, staff and families as well as a training Café for people living with a disability.

Hair Salon Manager

MiLife-Victoria provides supports that enable people living with disability to be self-directed and to exercise choice and control in their lives. We are currently seeking a Hair Salon Manager to manager our Seaford and Langwarrin Salons on a full time basis. The Salon Manager is responsible for overseeinng all areas of the salon operations to ensure that business performance is maximised.

The successful applicant must:

  • Have Certificate 3 in Hairdressing
  • Have a minimum of 5 years experience at a similar level
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of the beauty industry and customer needs
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team and high quality people management
  • Ability to be accountable for won and other's performance. Ability to use professional judgement and make sound business decisions
  • Strong and clear communication skills; proactively provides follow up as needed and can communicate sensitively and effectively
  • Excellent administration skills with high attention to detail and commitment to continual improvement of processes and procedures
  • Highly developed organisational, time management, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Solid understanding of finances including stock control, costs and budgets
  • Excellent relationship management skills and ability to provide high quality, professional customer service
  • High professional standards, strong ethics and integrity

    Experienced Hairdresser

We are currently seeking a passionate Hairdresser to work in our Salon on either a part time or full time basis. The position requires an eye for design when meeting clients’ hairdressing needs. The role involves maintaining a professional relationship with clients and staff, rapport building and ensuring a safe environment for staff and clients. Good interpersonal and conversational skills are required.

    The successful applicant must:

  • Have Certificate 3 Qualifications in hairdressing
  • Minimum 3 years experience at a similar level
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the beauty industry and customer needs. Excellent communication and ability to work as a team to achieve salon outcomes

    Volunteer Café Assistant

    Volunteer Café assistant required at café situated in an Aged Care Facility in Langwarrin. Experience in a café environment would be advantageous. Activities undertaken but not limited to: Clean tables and kitchen/café area, prepare and providing food to customers from the daily menu, Customer service skills, cash handling and EFTPOS experience.     Experienced Disability Support Worker - MiLife-Victoria

    About the Role

    The key accountabilities of the role include:

  • MiLife-Victoria provides supports that enable people living with disability to be self-directed and to exercise choice and control in their lives. We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, an excellent communicator, able to adapt to a changing environment and has extensive experience working in a direct care environment in the disability sector, preferably with high support or complex need client’s.
  • Providing support and mentoring to clients to assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Knowledge, ability to read and adhere too complex care plans and/ or BSP.
  • Ensure all aspects of program delivery are met on a day-to-day basis.
  • Understanding the goals and needs of all clients.
  • Work with the Area Managers to address any workplace or customer related issues.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements, for both the curriculum and the clients, and documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining a safe and effective workplace ensuring all defects and incidents are reported as per MiLife-Victoria policies and procedures.

  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Certificate IV Disability or relevant experience is a requirement for this role
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • NDIS worker orientation module is a requirement for this role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word
  • A sound understanding of reporting practices and use of a Customer Management System
  • Sound knowledge of current industry standards
  • Must be physically fit to be able to safely perform all the physical and manual handling requirements of this position
  • Victorian Drivers' License – manual preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of the NDIS is highly desirable
  • Experience with our Customer Management System, SupportAbility, highly desirable
