Personal Care Assistant

MiLife-Victoria provides supports that enable people living with disability to be self-directed and to exercise choice and control in their lives. We are currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant to work in a permanent, part-time position based in Langwarrin. The incumbent will be responsible for providing personal care support to disability adult clients at the Langwarrin Community and Arts Centre.

Manager, Community and Education Programs

We are currently seeking a Manager - Community and Education Programs to work in a permanent, full-time position based in Cranbourne, Frankston, Hastings or from home. The incumbent will be responsible for providing Community and Education Programs in-home, home to community and educational support to adults with a disability.

    Cafe Assistant

    This permanent part-time position is responsible for preparing food and drink orders and serving customers efficiently and taking payments. Ensuring counters and equipment are kept clean before, during and at the end of the service. The Café is a partnership between Langwarrin Community Aged Care (owned by Signature Care) and MiLife-Victoria to provide both a commercial Café offering to the Aged Care facility's residents, staff and families as well as a training Café for people living with a disability.

    Experienced Hairdresser

    MiLife-Victoria provides supports that enable people living with disability to be self-directed and to exercise choice and control in their lives. We are currently seeking a passionate Hairdresser to work in our Salon on a Part time basis. Designs for Hair is a small, well established salon that has been in operation for over 30 years. We are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic hair dresser to join the team.

    The successful applicant must:

  • Be qualified with minimum 2 years post apprenticeship experience
  • Be confident in all aspects of Hairdressing
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Be capable of opening and closing the salon
  • Be friendly, reliable and trustworthy
  • Be prepared to work in a fast paced busy environment
  • An existing clientele is beneficial but not essential

  • This position is a part time 18 hours per week fixed term until December 2021 with the option for more hours during busy periods.

    Volunteer Café Assistant

    Volunteer Café assistant required at café situated in an Aged Care Facility in Langwarrin. Experience in a café environment would be advantageous. Activities undertaken but not limited to: Clean tables and kitchen/café area, prepare and providing food to customers from the daily menu, Customer service skills, cash handling and EFTPOS experience. Ability to be able to communicate with people and build rapport.

    Experienced Disability Support Worker - MiLife-Victoria

    About the Role

    The key accountabilities of the role include:

  • MiLife-Victoria provides supports that enable people living with disability to be self-directed and to exercise choice and control in their lives. We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated, an excellent communicator, able to adapt to a changing environment and has extensive experience working in a direct care environment in the disability sector, preferably with high support or complex need client’s.
  • Providing support and mentoring to clients to assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Knowledge, ability to read and adhere too complex care plans and/ or BSP.
  • Ensure all aspects of program delivery are met on a day-to-day basis.
  • Understanding the goals and needs of all clients.
  • Work with the Area Managers to address any workplace or customer related issues.
  • Knowledge of documentation requirements, for both the curriculum and the clients, and documentation is completed accurately and on time.
  • Maintaining a safe and effective workplace ensuring all defects and incidents are reported as per MiLife-Victoria policies and procedures.

  • Required Skills and Experience

  • Certificate IV Disability or relevant experience is a requirement for this role
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • NDIS worker orientation module is a requirement for this role
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent computer skills including MS Word
  • A sound understanding of reporting practices and use of a Customer Management System
  • Sound knowledge of current industry standards
  • Must be physically fit to be able to safely perform all the physical and manual handling requirements of this position
  • Victorian Drivers' License – manual preferred
  • Knowledge and experience of the NDIS is highly desirable
  • Experience with our Customer Management System, SupportAbility, highly desirable
