1992

P.A.S.T. was established in 1992, supporting only 14 young people with Intellectual disabilities, living on the Peninsula and surrounding areas.  In 1995, an application was successful and DHS funded P.A.S.T. $250,000 for the purchase of a house in Langwarrin. The group moved in by September of that year.

1997

By 1997, after the introduction of the Futures for Young Adults program and securing the ability to deliver services under the Carers program, the numbers grew from 14 to 35.  Staff numbers increased and transport runs expanded.  Additional vehicles were purchased.  An overnight stay program was developed and other organizations began using the property for respite and holiday programs.

Links with local community centres were established to provide programs for individuals and people with disabilities generally.  Around the same time, P.A.S.T became a registered provider with Adult Community Further Education (ACFE) and established Adult Education courses for people with disabilities.

1998

Service User numbers grew to 49 in 1998, and the Mornington and Cranbourne sites were established.  ACFE courses were running in Carrum Downs, Langwarrin, Cranbourne and Merinda Park Community Centres.

2000

In 2000, P.A.S.T. developed its first Business Plan, modeling it on the Governments own State Plan.  The Transport service was accredited by the Department of Infrastructure.  The Hastings property was purchased in 2002 and a new ATSS building at the Langwarrin site opened.

2004

By 2004, the Organisation had transitioned from being a ‘service provider’ to ‘providing support’.  P.A.S.T. began providing in-home support to people with progressive neurological disorders.  The Cranbourne site opened around this time and our Respite Services commenced operations.

2008

In 2008, focus was on ensuring the Organisation was progressing to comply with the requirements of the Quality Framework.  Work continues to be undertaken in reviewing policies and processes ensuring adherence ongoing.

2012

After twenty years the Organisation has grown to now supporting approximately 160 individuals.  Additionally, the Organisation has diversified from supporting people with an Intellectual disability to now being non-specific.  PAST supports people with a myriad of disabilities including but not limited to intellectual, physical, neurological, sensory and psychiatric disability.

2014

In November 2014, P.A.S.T. rebranded and is now known as MiLife - Victoria.  While all of our services remain the same, we are preparing to ensure we are flexible with the changes that the NDIS will bring to people with disabilities.  Today sees us supporting over 360 individuals and their families across the organisation. We will continue to provide services to people with a range of disabilities and are proud of the difference that we continue to make in their lives.

2015

On 16th September 2015 history was made with the announcement that Victoria was to proceed with full rollout of the NDIS scheme on July 1st 2016. Our priorities remain to work with families and staff to understand and prepare for the changes and continue to implements the required business systems and process to operate in an insurance based market. Its and exciting time for everyone with a great deal of work to do.

2016

Full scheme starts on the 1st July and we become a registered provider in the scheme.  We continue to implement changes across the organisation and to our business systems and processes. Our capital position is improving through a targeted growth strategy and the offices at Frankston go on the market for sale. By late 2016 we receive advice that we have at least three early entrants into the scheme.
